Characteristics 


Shape : Sallow SORI(反り), High SHINOGI-SUJI(鎬筋), Narrow SHINOGI-JI(鎬地).
Hada : Very fine-grained ITAME-HADA(板目肌) or Large-grained one.
Hamon : NIE-DEKI(沸出来), Tight NIOIKUCHI(匂口)CHOJI(丁子).
BoshiKO-MARU(小丸). MIDARE-KOMI(乱れ込み) or HAKIKAKE(掃掛け) seen in his Soshu tradition style swords.

  • Unju Korekazu, whose real name was Masataro(政太郎), learned swordmaking from his uncle Chounsai Tsunatosh. Later, he married the daughter of the Ishido family and succeeded in the family’s business as the 7th generation Unju Korekazu.
  • He developed So-Bizen style which is a combination of the SOSHU Tradition(相州伝) and the BIZEN Tradition(備前伝).
