SHINTOGO KUNIMITSU(新藤五国光), was a Japanese swordsmith in Sagami province.
- Kamakura period.
- Bizen Saburo Kunimune(備前三郎国宗)
- Kunimitsu is considered to found the SOSHU Tradition(相州伝), but his lineage is still unclear. One theory says he was a son of Bizen Saburo Kunimune(備前三郎国宗), but the other theory says he was a son of Kunitsuna(国綱) from the AWATAGUCHI SCHOOL(粟田口派).
- Since his swords often have Sanskrit characters carving inscribed, he is thought to have had something to do with Buddhism.
