OZAKI SUKETAKA(尾崎助隆) was a Japanese swordsmith active in Osaka prefecture. He was one of the most famous smiths in western Japan of the time.

Characteristics 


Shape : Shallow SORI(反り), long KISSAKI(切先).
Hada : Very fine-grained ITAME-HADA(板目肌), so the Hada pattern is unrecognized.
Hamon : Long YAKIDASHI(焼出し), TORANBA(濤瀾刃)GUNOME(互の目)SUGUHA(直刃).
BoshiKO-MARU(小丸).

  • Ozaki Suketaka was born in Harima province but moved to Osaka and became an apprentice with Kuroda Takanobu.
  • He got the ZURYOUMEI(受領名) of  Nagato-kami(長門守) at 1798.
  • He adored Tsuda Sukehiro(津田助広), who developed Toranba, and left many swords with Toranba.
