KANESADA(兼定) was a Japanese swordsmith working in Seki of Mino province. His name was succeeded through many generations until the end of the Edo period. He is rated at O-wazamono ranking.

Shape : Higher SHINOGI-SUJI(鎬筋). WAKIZASHI (脇差) is quite rare.
Hada : Fine-grained MOKUME-HADA(杢目肌) mixed with ITAME-HADA(板目肌).
Hamon : Pointed CHOJI(丁子) or GUNOME(互の目).
Boshi : MIDARE-KOMI(乱れ込み), JIZO(地蔵) or KO-MARU(小丸).
- Since his name was succeeded by his descendants, Kanesada is referred to as Oya-Kanesada(親兼定). Likewise, his son is referred to as Nosada(之定) and his grandson is referred to as Hikisada(疋定).
- His great-grandson was asked by the Ashina family to work in Aizu province and prospered there until the end of the Edo period.
